DYC in Michigan

Here are a few pictures of the Detroit Yacht Club that we stayed at. We were on this dock, with the yacht club in the background. The pool was huge and the grounds were well taken care of with flowers all over. I know it's a rough life, but someone has to do it.

We left Detroit Thursday morning and headed to Lake St Clair and on up to the St Clair River. We took the south channel of the St Clair to the north channel where we found the "Sassy Marina".
The weekend was jam packed, we met Ben's sister Liz at the marina and she informed us that Ben & Nia were coming in for a wedding this weekend, and we were invited to join them. Liz also loaned us one of her cars for the weekend, awesome!! Friday evening we went to Ben's brothers house for a BBQ, where we met more of the family. Saturday we checked out the town a little then went to the wedding. We had such a great time. On Sunday we took a dinghy ride on the canals around the marina, weather has been perfect, around 75 breezy, sunny and blue skies and Blue water. Then we went to Ben's parents house and hung out for awhile and said goodbye to Ben & Nia who were heading back to Ohio.
Today we head out, back to the St Clair River and up toward Lake Huron, where we will find a marina and spend the night. Looks like we may be hitting some rain on our travels today, hopefully we will not encounter any T'storms. Catch everyone later, and thanks for all the comments, it's nice to hear from everyone and know that you are all out there keeping tabs on us.
Love to all.

Hi Mary and Jim!
That Yacht club looked absolutely amazing! Sounds like your having a great time. Things have been crazy here. One of James' buddies was electrocuted after a car accident and he and I went to the service yesterday. So sad. His buddy Cory's sister's ex-boyfriend (she had a no-contact order) broke into their house in the middle of the night with a sawed off shot-gun. The police ended up having to shoot/kill him. Life here continues to be stressful. We did go to the medieval faire though and that was a lot of fun! Will send you some pix. I got James' senior pictures ordered too. I can hardly believe we've just about made it! Well, have a bit of extra fun for me, maybe I can live vicariously through you! jk :) Take care and be safe!

love,
