Atlantic City, Brielle, & Point Pleasant Beach, NJ

Since the ICW in this area is so shallow, we decided to run on the outside, this would be our first run in the Atlantic Ocean.  Atlantic City was our next stop, about 30 miles north, it took under 2 hours. The ride was a bit rough, with the seas at 2 - 4 ft.

We stayed at the Farley/Trump  Marina, a very secure marina, each dock had a locked gate. We enjoyed the pool at the top of the casino, and of course I left a donation at the casino.

Atlantic City was a 1 day stop, we are steadily moving north to be home by mid September.
Our next stop was the Brielle, Point Pleasant Beach area. Again we ran outside in the Atlantic Ocean, but a much calmer scenario, hardly a ripple.  The trip took about 3 hours and was approximately 50 miles.  Here are some pictures of another beautiful Jersey beach, and very crowded as we came into the inlet.

Next to the Brielle Marina is a commuter RR bridge.  It sounds an alarm before it opens or closes, luckily there is not allot of boat traffic at night, as you can see we are docked very close to the bridge on the "T" dock.

Hi Travelers, Luved the pics and stories that went with. Mary, I still think you should write for National Geographic. You both will have such wonderful memories of the people, sights, and sounds you have experienced. Extremely hot and dry here. The dirt around my patio is hard as a rock. Good thing I wasn't planting anything. Can hardly keep my hanging baskets alive. Already lost one to the heat. Surgery now set for Sept.8.

Can't wait to see you. Hugs, Sheron

Hi Jim and Mary! The summer photos of the beaches and coast are terrific! We just got back from Kalahari with the kiddies. Great hot weather in Sandusky and we avoided any thunderstorms! The kids enjoyed not only the water rides but zip lining, rope climbing and rock wall climbing. And of course, none of it is included in the price of admission! Anyway, off to Cedar Point tomorrow. Will be hot but looks like it will be dry which is good.
Hugs and kisses to you both. I hope it is smooth sailing with no more boat repairs!
Take care!
Love Sue and crew...
